BCCAA RECOGNIZES BLUES ATHLETES
Basketball and volleyball athletes of the week

 Michelle Torresan

After leading her Blues in the destruction of the UFV Cascades last Friday in a 3-0 sweep, Michelle Torresan one-upped herself the next night by recording 22 digs and setting a new career high with 18 kills. Her two-game average of 4.28 kills/game and 5.14 digs/game can only be described as hot fire, and are substantially higher numbers than her season averages of 3.53 and 3.96 which place her in 4th and 3rd place in the league respectively.

 Jess Franz

Jess Franz’ double-double production ability last weekend drew the attention of both the BCCAA and Tim Horton’s managers nationwide. In last weekend’s games against Quest University Franz posted 18 points and 14 rebounds in the first victory, and followed up with a 28 point, 16 rebound performance, leading her Blues to another W over the Squamish squad. These numbers should be no surprise to fans of the Blues; Franz leads the league in scoring, with 16.73 points/game as well as rebounds, with 11.36.
